Vitamin D3 K2 MK-7 Goldmaster® 60sft - MJS Med
Goldmaster® Vitamin D3 K2 MK-7 contributes to the maintenance and/or increase of serum vitamin D3 levels.
Vitamin D3 stimulates calcium absorption. It is synthesized by the effect of sunlight on 7-dehydrocholesterol in the skin; it can act as a hormone.
Sunlight converts dehydrocholesterol into vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). The liver converts this into 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (25-(OH)D3), which is five times more potent than cholecalciferol (D3).
25-hydroxycholecalciferol is converted by the kidneys into 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol (1,25-(OH)2D3), which has 10 times the potency of vitamin D3. Liver and kidney diseases alter this conversion.
Some patients with osteoporosis show high concentrations of 25-OH-D3 but low levels of 1,25-(OH)2D3, indicating they suffer from some form of renal pathology. The administration of 700 IU/day of vitamin D3 reduces the annual incidence of hip fractures by 60%.
Vitamin D3 can be especially useful for the elderly living at home due to a lack of sun exposure, as well as for people living far from the Equator and those who do not go outdoors regularly.
Although early scientific studies pointed to dosages close to 400-800 IU, more recent studies have shown that a dosage of 2000 IU/day induces a substantially greater effect.
Vitamin K2 in its highly absorbable MK-7 form ensures that the calcium absorbed in the small intestine due to vitamin D3 is not accumulated in soft tissues and is placed directly into the bone matrix. It prevents soft tissue calcification.
Added Vitamin E prevents oil oxidation, preserving its quality.
Package contains 60 softgel capsules.
