Prostaliv 60caps - MJS Med
Prostaliv® by MJS MED is a food supplement indicated for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Sabal serrulata is a liposterolic extract of the saw palmetto fruit that reduces the intensity of urinary tract symptoms and nocturia, and improves maximum urinary flow. It inhibits the binding of DHT to receptors, inhibits 5-alpha-reductase, and interferes with intraprostatic estrogen receptors.
Urtica lignans can modulate hormonal effects due to their binding to sex hormone-binding globulin.
The combination of glycine, alanine, and glutamic acid relieves many of the symptoms. The mechanism of action is unknown; the amino acids may act as inhibitory neurotransmitters, relieving the sensation of a full bladder.
Pygeum is an African evergreen tree whose bark has been used historically for urinary disorders. The components of the bark are fat-soluble sterols and fatty acids. It offers greater relief and induces a higher urinary flow rate, with a decrease in residual urinary volume. However, it does not produce effects on prostate size. It may inhibit endothelial growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, and insulin-like growth factor 1, which are related to prostate overgrowth.
Pollen extract has achieved an overall good result rate of about 70% over 35 years of experience in Europe; a 70% reduction in nocturia and daytime polyuria; significant decreases in residual urinary volume; some anti-inflammatory effects; a contractile effect on the bladder while relaxing the urethra; and a beneficial effect on prostate cell growth.
Zinc reduces prostate size and symptoms in most patients. Its intestinal absorption is hindered by the action of estrogens (the concentration of which increases in men with BPH) and enhanced by androgens.
