Cow's Foot Leaves (Bauhinia Fortificata) 50g - World Teas

Cow's Foot Tea

Cow's Foot Tea contains antioxidant, diuretic, and hypoglycemic properties essential for urinary, cardiovascular, and renal well-being. It is widely used to control diabetes and blood pressure.

Benefits:

Cow's Foot Tea is recognized as an excellent ally in balancing blood sugar levels (diabetes) and controlling blood pressure. It's an ideal medicinal tea for diabetics and hypertensive patients. In the case of diabetes, Cow's Foot Tea helps reduce renal glycosuria, i.e., reducing glucose levels in the urine. By stimulating insulin production in the pancreas, Cow's Foot Tea promotes the elimination of glucose (sugar) through urine.

However, this effect only occurs in people with diabetes. At the same time, Pata de Vaca contributes to the well-being of the bladder, kidneys, and intestines.

By contributing to improving intestinal flora, Cow's Foot Tea promotes the reduction of fluid retention.

This medicinal tea is also recommended for hypertension because it acts to relax veins and arteries.

The consumption of Cow's Foot Tea is recommended for problems such as: urinary tract infections, kidney stones and

Curiosities:

Scientifically known as "Bauhinia forficata," the Pata de Vaca is an ornamental tree commonly used in urban landscaping. The term "Pata de Vaca" is associated with the "V" shape of its leaves, which resemble the feet of cows and oxen (animals). Furthermore, the scientific term "forficata" derives from "forca" (fork) because the branches of this tree contain thorns that look identical to a pitchfork or fork (tool). The Pata de Vaca belongs to the genus "Bauhinia," named after the botanical brothers Jean Bauhin and Gaspard Bauhin. Currently, there are 300 species of this genus, of which approximately 200 are found in Brazil in the well-known
Atlantic Forest.

"Bauhinia forficata" is the only species in this genus that produces white flowers. This species is known for its round, fragrant flowers that develop between July and September. During flowering, the Pata de Vaca is invaded by hummingbirds and bees. This medium-sized tree is one of the most important species for regenerating degraded natural areas.
