Sage Essential Oil - Pranarôm

Native to Western Asia and Southern and Central Europe, this biennial herbaceous plant of the Lamiaceae family is widely cultivated in temperate countries as an ornamental plant, but also to produce an essential oil used in the manufacture of liqueurs or perfumes.

Sage was one of the life-saving plants of the Middle Ages. The Greeks, Romans, and Arabs commonly used it as a tonic and in compresses against snake bites. Egyptian women had a habit of drinking its juice to increase their fertility. "He who has sage in his garden will not need a doctor" (a Provençal saying).
