HAWA STRESS - Modulation of psychological and behavioral stress.
Synergistic formulation for stress and anxiety management. Its composition includes the following ingredients with individualized physiological activity.
Serenzo®, a registered trademark of Nexira, has consistently investigated this Citrus sinensis (orange) extract, standardized to 20% limonene. It has proven activity in modulating stress-generating processes. Studies in rodents show that D-limonene has anti-stress activity by interfering with orthoparasympathetic parameters and central neurotransmitter functions. In human studies, Serenzo® significantly reduces the global severity index1 (SCL-90-R - a multidimensional scale for assessing symptoms such as somatization, obsessive-compulsiveness, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, and hostility) by approximately 53%, and the Hamilton Anxiety Index (HAM-A)1 by approximately 50%.
The direct effect of Citrus sinensis on oxidative stress with normalization of cellular redox status contributes complementarily to the management/modulation of psychological and behavioral stress.
Withania somnifera (ashwagandha) is a plant used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. Scientific studies conducted since the beginning of this century confirm its traditional clinical use. In an experimental study model using rodents, chronic induced stress caused hyperglycemia, glucose intolerance, increased plasma cortisol, gastric ulceration, immunosuppression, sexual dysfunction in males, mental depression, and cognitive deficits (revealed in the animals' atypical behavior). Administration of Withania somnifera extract was shown to significantly alleviate these disorders. Another more recent study confirms the adaptogenic and anti-stress effects of ashwagandha, also demonstrating neuroprotective effects in Parkinson's disease and GABA-mimetic activity with neuroregenerative potential, as well as anxiolytic activity comparable to that of benzodiazepines (lorazepam).
Ocimum sanctum (basil) is a sacred Hindu herb used every morning by priests to ensure their personal health, spiritual purity, and family well-being.
Traditional Indian medicine has used this herb for a variety of conditions (bronchitis, gastric disorders, urinary difficulties, intestinal cramps, flatulence, flatulence, colds, headaches, and sinusitis). Modern experimental scientific research (animal studies and human clinical research) has recognized Ocimum sanctum as an antioxidant, adaptogen, neuroprotector, radioprotector (against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation), and stress reducer. Ocimum sanctum has anti-stress effects, with physiological mechanisms already partially unraveled in animal experiments.
Other animal research models suggest that this plant reduces stress-induced anxiety and depression. Various phytochemical constituents of Ocimum sanctum have been the subject of intense scrutiny for their stress-reducing activity. Although some studies have demonstrated physiological effects that demonstrate anti-stress activity, such as ocimumosides A and B and 4-Allyl-1-O-Beta-D-Glucopyronosyl-2-hydroxybenzene, all experimental evidence suggests that its confirmed effects are essentially due to the "totum vegetal" (the total of constituent molecules of the plant with synergistic activity on animal physiology).
GABA has experimentally demonstrated its ability to increase relaxing brain waves, improving the immune functions of patients subject to stress.
A study carried out on individuals suffering from phobias revealed that GABA has stress-reducing effects, proven by a decrease of approximately 30% in salivary immunoglobulins.
Coriandrum sativum (cilantro) has been shown, through an animal model of amnesia and stress induction, to significantly reduce levels of vanillyllandelic acid, a urinary metabolite that indicates effects related to physical and psychological stress.
In animal models evaluating anxiolytic effects, Coriandrum sativum showed anxiety-reducing activity.
