Liposomal delivery is considered one of the most efficient and safe methods of delivering substances into the body. The similarity of liposomes to the cell membranes found in the human body makes them biocompatible and safe.

FE-LIP contains:
• free iron (not encapsulated in liposomes) - similar to other preparations in traditional form,
• iron encapsulated in liposomes.

This allows iron to be absorbed through 2 independent transport pathways:
- for the circulatory system – this absorption mechanism is also used in the case of other traditional iron preparations available on the market,
- for the lymphatic system – this iron absorption mechanism is only possible with liposome preparations (e.g. ).

Allows the absorption of iron through the lymphatic system.
Transendocytosis is a pathway for absorption of liposomal iron from LIPOSHELL® into the lymphatic system.
The next step conducts the iron through the thoracic duct into the blood circulation system.
The iron is then bound to transferrin and transported to cells and storage sites.

This supplement features a liposomal form of iron that contains both free iron and liposome-encapsulated iron. The use of traditional and lymphatic iron absorption pathways increases its effectiveness.

The liposomal form of iron reduces the risk of side effects that are typical of traditional iron preparations, including: metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and constipation.
