Description

DaoSin 90caps - Salengei

DaoSin from Salengei is a food for special medical purposes, containing the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) to help with DAO deficiency (histamine intolerance).

What is histamine?

Histamine is a vital molecule, a transmitter that belongs to the so-called biogenic amines and is present in many foods naturally, as well as inside our cells. Normally, the ingestion of histamine contained in food does not cause any problems, as it is processed and metabolized quickly by the enzyme DAO.

Which foods contain histamine?

Histamine is present in all foods, whether of animal or vegetable origin. Foods that undergo long maturation or are stored for a long period have an especially high content of histamine and other biogenic amines that are also degraded by the DAO enzyme.

Foods with the highest content include, for example:

  • Raw milk, pasteurized milk, and dairy products.
  • Citrus fruits, strawberries, and bananas.
  • Seafood, blue fish, and fish sauces.
  • Raw cured meats, such as sausage, chorizo, or bacon.
  • Some vegetables, such as tomatoes, spinach, or eggplant.
  • Alcoholic beverages*, especially red wine and sparkling wines.

* Alcoholic beverages contain histamine and other biogenic amines, but in addition, alcohol inhibits the activity of the DAO enzyme, preventing the metabolization and degradation of histamine.

The DAO enzyme and DAO deficiency

What is DAO? DAO is the main enzyme in the metabolism of ingested histamine. It is located mainly in the intestinal epithelium, the area where it degrades histamine ingested in the diet, preventing it from passing into the blood.

What is DAO deficiency? We speak of DAO deficiency in the case of a deficiency in the activity of the metabolizing enzyme DiAminoOxidase (DAO) or when there is an unbalanced proportion between the enzyme ingested with food and the capacity to metabolize it by that enzyme. As a result, histamine is not sufficiently metabolized or degraded, passing into the bloodstream and triggering various symptoms. Common reactions when there is a DAO deficiency are, for example:

  • Digestive disorders, such as a feeling of bloating, flatulence, constipation, or diarrhea.
  • Muscle pain and contractures and osteopathic pain.
  • Skin disorders, such as dry or atopic skin.
  • Headache.
  • Non-allergic rhinitis.
  • Tinnitus.

DAOSIN®

DAOSin® is a food for special medical purposes. For the management of DAO deficiency (histamine intolerance).

The DiAminoOxidase contained in DAOSIN® complements the body's own enzyme, which is responsible for metabolizing histamine.

Taking one DAOSIN® capsule before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and, therefore, the ability to degrade histamine. This accelerates the processing in the digestive tract of the histamine present in food, which is the trigger for symptoms.

It is essential to take DAOSIN® before the meal. When histamine-containing foods reach the intestine, the capsule should already have dissolved and the DAO enzyme it contains should be active.

The contents of the capsule should not be chewed, but swallowed whole, so that the contents pass intact through the stomach to the intestine. If you have difficulty swallowing, you can open the capsule and swallow the contents with water. Do not crush or chew.

Package contains 90 capsules.

    WARNINGS

DAOSin® is not a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Use only under medical supervision. Keep out of the reach of children. Not recommended for children or pregnant women. Contains protein extract, histamine-free and rich in natural DiAminoOxidase (DAO).

DAOSin® contains histamine-free protein extract (rich in natural diamino oxidase (DAO)). Alcohol and certain medications can substantially inhibit the activity of the DAO enzyme.

    Important notes:
In the dietary management of DAO deficiency, it is advisable to reduce the intake of certain foods due to their content of histamine or other biogenic amines that saturate the DAO enzyme, among which cow's milk, derived dairy products, and citrus fruits are especially notable due to their frequent habitual consumption. It is advisable to avoid the consumption of alcoholic beverages, as they contain histamine and other biogenic amines to varying degrees, and alcohol is also an inhibitor of the functional activity of the DAO enzyme, which prevents the metabolization and degradation of histamine.
