BioActivo Selenium+Zinc contains 100 μg of Pharma Nord 's patented yeast, enriched with highly absorbed organic selenium - SelenoPrecise. This yeast contains 67% L-selenomethionine and 33% other forms of selenium, corresponding to the natural variety consumed in a balanced, selenium-rich diet. The selenium present in the tablet is absorbed up to 89%. The absorption and effect of selenium appears to be enhanced when combined with vitamins C, E, B6, and zinc.

What are antioxidants and free radicals?

Antioxidants are substances capable of neutralizing free radicals, which are chemically unstable molecules that attack everything around them in a chain reaction. Cell membranes and cell nuclei can be attacked, weakening cells and oxidizing fatty acids. We cannot avoid free radicals because they are a natural consequence of our metabolism and a consequence of stress, among other factors. However, in some contexts, they also perform useful functions, but we continually need to protect our cells, genetic material, and fats from the rampant attack of free radicals to maintain normal cellular functions for as long as possible.
