BioActive Quinone Q10 30mg 60caps - Pharma Nord
BioActive Quinone Q10 from Pharma Nord was launched in 1990 and was one of the first Q10 preparations on the European market. Each light-proof soft gelatin capsule contains 30 mg of coenzyme Q10 dissolved in vegetable oil. Q10 is a fat-soluble substance that the body has difficulty absorbing. However, due to highly specialized manufacturing techniques, the Q10 is dissolved in a solution of vegetable oils and subjected to a unique heating process, through which the Q10 molecules are completely dissolved, providing superior bioavailability of the active compound. This superior bioavailability of BioActive Quinone Q10 is documented in several studies. And the fact that it has been on the European market for so many years makes BioActive Quinone Q10 one of the most well-proven Q10 products.
BioActive Quinone Q10 from Pharma Nord
- It has been one of the best-selling Q10 supplements for several years due to its extensive documentation on bioavailability;
- Contains Q10 identical to the coenzyme Q10 produced by the body itself;
- The form of coenzyme Q10 used in this product is yeast-fermented, completely free from synthetic cis-isomers. It does not contain any impurities that can be found in other Q10 raw materials, most of which lack documentation;
- The amount of Q10 present in one capsule exceeds the amount of Q10 that we normally obtain from our diet.
What is coenzyme Q10?
Coenzyme Q10 (or simply Q10) is a substance with vitamin-like properties. It is also called ubiquinone (in Latin, ubi means "everywhere"). BioActive Quinone Q10 from Pharma Nord contains vitamin B2 which contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. When a cell needs energy, it converts fat, carbohydrates, and proteins into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the cell's form of energy.
The cell breaks down the ATP molecule, releasing the energy it contains. This whole process occurs inside a small bean-shaped cell structure called a mitochondrion. In all mitochondria, we can find coenzyme Q10. Muscle cells are particularly dependent on large amounts of energy, which is why they contain substantially more mitochondria than other cells. The heart muscle is an organ that contains a high number of mitochondria due to its high energy consumption.
Coenzyme Q10 is also a powerful antioxidant.

Q10 as an antioxidant
Coenzyme Q10 has the ability to eliminate reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can appear naturally as byproducts in metabolism or as a result of external factors, such as radiation or chemical pollution. Supported by other antioxidants, such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and natural enzymes, coenzyme Q10 constitutes a defense mechanism due to its role in protecting cells against oxidative stress.
Good sources of Q10
We obtain Q10 from various foods; some of the best dietary sources are:
- Beef
- Pork
- Herring
- Soybean oil
- Sardines
Endogenous production
Additionally, the human body has the ability to produce coenzyme Q10. This process occurs in the liver and is affected by aging and disease. According to some experts, Q10 levels in the body peak at 20-25 years of age, an age from which one enters a downward curve.
The illustration shows an average of the natural reduction of Q10 in different organs between 20 and 80 years of age.
Although it has not yet been possible to quantify exactly how much Q10 we obtain from food, it is estimated to be approximately 5 to 20 mg per day. The body has a reserve of about 1 to 1.5g. The highest concentrations are found in the heart, liver, and kidneys.
Q10 and cholesterol
Q10 and cholesterol share the same biochemical pathway (cholesterol is also synthesized in the liver). Studies have shown how some cholesterol-lowering medications reduce the endogenous production of coenzyme Q10.
A very safe substance
Studies show how taking a Q10 supplement long-term does not affect the body's ability to produce it endogenously. Over 20 years of research and consumer use guarantee the safety of BioActive Quinone Q10.
Pack contains 60 capsules.
