ACNAVANCE helps limit acne and/or inflammation in Retention Acne, Inflammatory Acne and Accidental Acne in your 50s.
Acne is a skin condition characterized by inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles found on the face, neck, shoulders, and back. Juvenile acne affects about 80% of adolescents and "disappears" around the age of 19–20 without scarring in 90% of cases. Acne also affects 40% of adults after the age of 25, particularly peri- or postmenopausal women. Acne is the result of three factors:
• Hyperseborrhea: hormone-dependent (androgen) under the action of 5 alpha reductase; excess sebum on the surface of the skin.
• Hyperkeratosis: microcysts or blackheads are formed when the follicular opening is obstructed or closed.
• Inflammation associated with bacterial proliferation of PROPIONIBACTERIUM ACNES: naturally present in pilosebaceous follicles, this lipophilic anaerobic bacterium multiplies within the obstructed follicle and feeds on sebum, producing lipases that react with sebum TG and causing irritation and inflammation.
Acne comes in different forms: acne (hyperseborrheic and hyperkeratotic), inflammatory acne (papules infected by bacteria, pustules, cysts, nodules) and polymorphic or mixed acne (which presents both previous forms).
Deep scars and hyperpigmentation of the skin can appear, hence the importance of not neglecting acne.
There are predisposing factors, such as genetics, the use of "greasy" cosmetics, a diet very rich in sugars and/or pro-inflammatory fats, a micronutritional deficiency (zinc, iron...), poor detoxification of the body, as well as the use of anabolic steroids!
