Emulsi-D3 Synergy 55ml - Designs for Health
Designs for Health Emulsi-D3 Synergy is a highly bioavailable, concentrated vitamin D liquid formulation, delivering a generous 2,000 IU (50 mcg) of vitamin D3 per 1 ml serving (one full dropperful), along with two forms of vitamin K, a complementary and synergistic nutrient to vitamin D. Emulsi-D3 Synergy uses a natural, self-emulsifying technology that allows for rapid and complete dispersion in liquid.
Both vitamins D and K are essential for bone and arterial health and for maintaining a healthy immune system.
A large proportion of the U.S. population has suboptimal vitamin D levels, and vitamin K provides critical synergies with vitamin D. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. However, for adequate bone strength and health, it's not enough alone.
Absorb calcium. Calcium needs to be directed to the right place, and that's where vitamin K2 comes in. It acts as a "traffic cop" for calcium, helping transport it to bones and teeth (where it should be) and channeling it away from deposits in soft tissues like artery walls, joints, or kidneys (where it shouldn't be).
It's difficult to get adequate amounts of vitamin D from the modern diet, and our busy, hectic lifestyles mean many of us don't get enough vitamin D from the primary source: sunlight exposure. Ultraviolet light from the sun interacts with cholesterol in our skin, converting it into vitamin D (with the help of the kidneys), but this occurs best at certain times of the year and at certain latitudes. Adequate sunlight exposure and subsequent vitamin D synthesis can be difficult year-round, so supplementation may be necessary for some individuals.
Skin pigmentation, age, genetic variations, and other factors influence the body's ability to synthesize vitamin D, so certain populations may benefit from supplemental intake. Other situations may increase the body's need for vitamin D. For example, those with compromised digestion and intestinal function may have difficulty absorbing vitamin D from food, as may those with impaired fat absorption, since vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient. Additionally, vegetarians may find it difficult to maintain adequate vitamin D levels because animal foods are the only natural dietary source of this vitamin. (Vitamin D2, created by irradiating plant foods, may not provide the same physiological effects as animal-derived vitamin D3.) Animal foods are also the only source of vitamin K2, except in small amounts in certain fermented vegetables.
