• Mastic gum, a resinous substance from a tree originally native to the island of Chios, Greece, which has a long history of use in the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern regions, where it has been chewed like gum to treat stomach aches for centuries.

• Methylmethioninesulfonium, a methionine derivative found in raw cabbage, is often referred to as "vitamin U" due to its history of treating peptic ulcers. The use of raw cabbage juice has been extensively studied, particularly in Russia and other former Soviet Union countries, for healing damaged and irritated intestinal mucosa.

• Deglycinated licorice (DGL) A source of glabidrin, which has natural antioxidant properties and maintains balanced bacteria levels, aids digestion, may relieve nausea, and treats ulcers and gastritis.

• Zinc-carnosine (PepZin-GI) was added to this formula due to recent emerging findings showing its impressive effect against H. pylori, and mucosal protective and antiulcer properties, including the ability to protect the intestinal lining against damage caused by indomethacin and other strong anti-inflammatory drugs often associated with intestinal mucosal damage.
