Description

Phytoprofen 60caps - Thorne

Medicinal plant extracts that support a healthy cytokine balance and help minimize bruising and swelling

Thorne 's Phiytoprofen combines ginger, Boswellia, and curcumin phytosome to support a healthy cytokine balance. Bromelain reduces swelling and bruising. Phytoprofen supports healing after injury or surgery.

Phytoprofen can minimize post-operative or post-injury bruising and swelling, as well as help prevent connective tissue breakdown. It contains a blend of Ayurvedic herbs—ginger, boswellia, and curcumin—that together support a healthy cytokine balance in the body. Phytoprofen also contains bromelain, a protein-digesting enzyme complex derived from pineapple that studies have shown to reduce bruising after injury. Bromelain supplementation after a contact injury to the musculoskeletal system can reduce swelling and tenderness. Phytoprofen can be used to promote healing after injury or surgery.

    ALLERGY WARNING

This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.

    Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, consult your healthcare professional before using this product.

    INTERACTIONS

Because bromelain has fibrinolytic effects, potentially inhibiting blood clotting, phytoprofen should be used with caution or avoided in individuals on anticoagulant therapy.

Curcumin has been shown to reduce the therapeutic efficacy of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) in animal studies. Researchin vitroreveal that curcumin decreased camptothecin-induced death of cultured breast cancer cells. Curcumin may also interfere with the absorption and efficacy of the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, used to treat colon cancer. Concomitant use of curcumin with these agents should be avoided.

    ADDITIONAL NOTICES

It is not recommended to remove the phytoprofen powder from the capsule to take it orally, as it can be irritating to the oral mucosa.
