BioActive Vitamin D Forte from Pharma Nord consists of small soft gelatin capsules containing 3000 IU (75 μg) of vitamin D3. The vitamin D is dissolved in cold-pressed olive oil to increase absorption in the digestive system, as vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. Their small size makes them easy to swallow, however, the capsules can also be chewed. Scientific studies have shown that BioActive Vitamin D Forte has high bioavailability in the body.

BioActive Vitamin D was tested by researchers at the University of Oslo, who gave athletes different doses of vitamin D: BioActive Vitamin D capsules and inactive placebo capsules. The test showed that BioActive Vitamin D, whether in high or low doses, was well absorbed by the participants, while the athletes who received the placebo showed no changes in their blood vitamin D levels.

The chart shows the difference in blood vitamin D levels over a 4-week period between the group that received 76 mcg of vitamin D daily and the group that received placebo capsules.
