LIVER HANGOVER is a nutrigenomic designed by EcogeneticsN® Laboratories to promote gene expression of detoxification and liver support, as well as lipotropic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Its 3 main functions are:
– Drainage and detoxification of liver cells;
– Liver cell regeneration;
– Promotion of better metabolism of fats and alcohol (lipotropic factors and optimization of the digestion of acetaldehyde – a highly toxic and carcinogenic alcohol by-product).
Function
In addition to inducing GSTP1 expression with the involvement of the transcription factor Nrf2 (which regulates the production of important antioxidants, such as glutathione and superoxide dismutase (SOD), as well as detoxification enzymes, including glutathione-S-transferase, while downregulating inflammatory factors, such as NF-kB) in human liver cells and protecting against H2O2-induced cell death, upregulating HO-1 (heme oxygenase - responsible for the survival of healthy cells and apoptosis of altered ones) and thioredoxin (antioxidant function), which are mediated by the transcription factor Nrf2. This nutrigenomic can, in addition, activate the ARE-mediated expression of antioxidant defense genes in human monocytes through PKC-δ, p38 MAPK (Kinase inhibitors).
Furthermore, LIVER HANGOVER contains several dietary constituents that have been shown to support liver function and structure. Choline, inositol, and betaine are involved in methyl group metabolism, which is essential for normal liver function and are indispensable for the metabolism of fats in the liver (lipotropic nutrients). A lipotropic nutrient promotes the release of fat from the liver. Lipotropics are necessary for maintaining a healthy liver and for burning fat into additional energy. Without lipotropics, such as choline and inositol, fats and bile can become trapped in the liver, causing various liver pathologies.
Choline deficiency can result in excessive fat accumulation in the liver.
