ST Stress 60caps - Eubage

Eubage's ST Stress improves metabolism in stressful situations, helps balance the nervous system and aids concentration and memory.

Stress is an interaction between a force and the resistance it opposes. Stress mobilizes the body, triggering a palliative alarm response, which induces the secretion of neurotransmitters (dopamine and acetylcholine), several hormones (adrenaline, cortisol, and noradrenaline), and some changes in energy metabolism. When the palliative response stops, neuroendocrine imbalances arise, leading to functional imbalances and metabolic diseases. Endocrine imbalances affect thyroid hormones, adrenal corticosteroids, and angiotensin. The latter is a peptide hormone that acts on the contraction of muscle fibers in blood vessels and increases tension by stimulating the secretion of another hormone, aldosterone, which regulates sodium and potassium movements in the kidneys. Thus, the effects of stress spread throughout the body.

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is found in over 30% of synapses and activates ionotropic receptors. The GABA type A receptor is one of the ion channels in neuronal membranes activated by the binding of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which acts as a chemical messenger in the nervous system and contributes to motor control, vision, and many other cortical functions. It plays a fundamental role in the pain mechanism. It acts as a neuromodulator that inhibits the central dopaminergic system, contributing to the regulation of cognitive functions. It is one of the main neuromediators and inhibitors in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Benzodiazepines (Diazepam = Valium®) selectively bind to the GABA-A receptor and at the adhesion site itself to enhance the inhibitory and calming action of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
It causes neuronal hyperpolarization and reduces the likelihood and frequency of discharges, inhibiting neuronal communication and electrical excitation, without causing daytime drowsiness or habituation. The effects of anxiety and stress are reduced at the motor centers.

L-Taurine is derived from cysteine, a sulfur-containing amino acid. In synergy with vitamin B6, taurine acts as a membrane stabilizer, maintaining cellular structure and polarization. It improves the intracellular incorporation of magnesium, reducing hyperexcitability. It is a recognized neuromodulator, reducing the amount of adrenaline secreted by the adrenal glands and the amount of noradrenaline secreted by the central nervous system during stress. Due to its magnesium-binding action, taurine, in synergy with vitamin B6, is a precursor to serotonin.
Controls catecholamine and neurotransmitter levels while enhancing the action of GABA. Reduces taurine loss through urine.

L-Taurine has anticonvulsant properties, alleviating problems associated with fatigue. Its derivative, Acomprosate (calcium acetyl homotaurinate), is a GABA-ergic antagonist used to treat alcoholism.

Magnesium is essential for good conductivity, normalizing nerve flow in synergy with vitamin B6, essential for the production of acetylcholine.

Hypericin and other naphthodianthrones from St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) significantly improve sleep quality and mental and idiosyncratic mood, especially because they inhibit the enzyme monoamine oxidase.

B vitamins increase metabolism and combat symptoms associated with stress, depression and certain cardiovascular diseases.
