Nattokinase 100mg - Now Foods

Nattokinase is a protease-type enzyme (i.e., it breaks down proteins) produced by the bacterium Bacillus subtilis found in Natto, a food widely consumed by the Japanese. The presence of nattokinase in blood plasma peaks approximately 12 hours after oral intake. Taking nattokinase at a dose of 2,000 FU of fibrinolytic enzyme activity per day for two months has been shown to decrease plasma levels of fibrinogen and coagulation factors VII and VIII, three hematological factors which, when elevated, significantly increase the risk of thrombus formation. Nattokinase possesses potent fibrinolytic and anti-inflammatory activity. It is able to act in the breakdown of fibrin (fibrinolysis), meaning it improves blood flow, reducing the risk of the onset of cardiovascular problems derived from excess fibrinogen – fibrin is a protein that participates in the formation of clots in the event of bleeding. Furthermore, with its anti-inflammatory action, it has proven useful in arteriosclerosis and hypertension. It has an anti-thrombotic effect, meaning it is capable of dissolving clots or thrombi. It is important to clarify that Nattokinase does not interfere with the lipid profile, and therefore does not reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease associated with high blood levels of cholesterol or triglycerides. In the normal coagulation process, a protease called thrombin acts on fibrinogen molecules. This action results in degradation products (polypeptides and peptides) that join together in a new molecular form, creating fibrin, the main constituent of clots. The formation and degradation of fibrin are kept in balance by the hemolytic system. When there is no homeostasis, fibrin cannot be degraded and the possibilities of thrombus formation on arterial walls increase. Clots or thrombi can impede blood flow and lead to serious consequences such as heart attack, thrombosis, stroke, and pulmonary embolisms. NATTOKINASE helps in the prevention of thrombus and clot formation, in addition to being an aid in restoring homeostasis of arteries and blood vessels.

Nattokinase 100mg - Now Foods

Fibrinolytic and anti-inflammatory.

Nattokinase is a protease-type enzyme (= breaks down proteins) produced by the bacterium Bacillus subtilis found in Natto, a food widely consumed by the Japanese. The presence of nattokinase in blood plasma peaks about 12 hours after oral intake. Taking nattokinase at a dose of 2,000 FU of fibrinolytic enzyme activity per day for two months has been shown to decrease plasma levels of fibrinogen and coagulation factors VII and VIII, three hematological factors which, if elevated, significantly increase the risk of thrombus formation.

Nattokinase has potent fibrinolytic and anti-inflammatory activity. It is able to act in the breakdown of fibrin (fibrinolysis), meaning it improves blood flow, reducing the risks of cardiovascular problems arising from excess fibrinogen – fibrin is a protein that participates in the formation of clots in the event of bleeding. Furthermore, with its anti-inflammatory action, it has proven useful in atherosclerosis and hypertension. It has an anti-thrombotic effect, meaning it is capable of dissolving clots or thrombi.

It is important to clarify that Nattokinase does not interfere with the lipid profile, so it does not reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease associated with high blood levels of cholesterol or triglycerides.

In the normal coagulation process, a protease called thrombin acts on fibrinogen molecules. This action results in degradation products (polypeptides and peptides) that combine into a new molecular form, creating fibrin, the main constituent of clots. The formation and degradation of fibrin are kept in balance by the hemolytic system. When there is no homeostasis, fibrin cannot be degraded, and the possibilities of thrombus formation on artery walls increase. Clots or thrombi can impede blood flow and lead to serious consequences such as heart attack, thrombosis, stroke, and pulmonary embolisms.

NATTOKINASE helps in the prevention and formation of thrombi and clots, as well as acting as an adjuvant in restoring homeostasis to arteries and blood vessels.
