Ganodic acids present in Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) induce cytotoxicity in androgen-dependent and -independent prostate cancer cell lines and inhibit 5-alpha-reductase activity. (Dht, Livel al; 2009).
These compounds also inhibit osteoclastogenesis, which causes bone resorption and mineralization, which is invaded and colonized in cases of prostate cancer metastasis (Johnson et al; 2010).
According to some studies, patients treated with Ganoderma lucidum are more likely to respond positively to chemotherapy or radiotherapy compared to those who receive only chemotherapy or radiotherapy (Xingzhong et al; 2012) Cochrane Community.

Extracts (Pyo et al; 2008) and polysaccharides (Fullerton et al. to; 2000) from Grifola frondosa are capable of inhibiting the growth of prostate cancer cell lines.

Shiitake
Lentinula edodes is a rich source of minerals, notably zinc, which helps control cell proliferation and, therefore, reduces prostate volume. The zinc provided by Shiitake can inhibit the excessive conversion of testosterone into DHT, the molecule that causes prostate growth.
